CS2 Wingman: the 2v2 mode, the one-bombsite maps, the $8000 money cap, and the round reward table

Post by ice »

What Wingman is
Wingman is a 2 versus 2 competitive mode played on maps with one bombsite. It uses a best of 16 format and has its own Wingman skill group, separate from your Competitive rating.
The maps are compact versions of the originals. Most of the map is cut off with walls, and some spawns sit much closer to the bombsite than on the full map.
Two things are on in Wingman that are not always on elsewhere: friendly fire and player collision.
The round timer is 1 minute and 30 seconds. The maximum money cap is $8000.

The round reward table
Wingman round rewards differ from Competitive and Casual. The wiki prints them as:
  • Winning by team elimination: $2750
  • Winning by time win as CT: $2750
  • Winning by bomb defusal as CT: $3000
  • Winning by bomb detonation as T: $3000
  • Losing 1 round: $2000, plus $600 if the bomb was planted as T
  • Losing 2 rounds in a row: $2300, plus $600 if the bomb was planted as T
  • Losing 3 rounds in a row: $2600, plus $600 if the bomb was planted as T
  • Losing 4 rounds in a row: $2900, plus $600 if the bomb was planted as T
  • Losing 5 or more rounds in a row: $2900, plus $600 if the bomb was planted as T
The loss ladder stops rising at 4 rounds. From the fifth consecutive loss onward the reward stays at $2900, so losing longer than that buys nothing extra.
The $600 bomb bonus applies to every loss row, not just the first.
A loss pays more than a win in this table. Losing four rounds in a row pays $2900, while eliminating the other team pays $2750.

The rank and the replay
Wingman has its own skill group. If you have a Wingman rank and do not play Wingman for 28 days, the skill group is hidden because of inactivity.
In CS2, replays after a finished match can be downloaded from the watch menu.

What this post does not settle
The wiki page lists official maps, operation maps and community maps as three headings, but the map names sit in a gallery that the text extraction did not carry. I could not list the current Wingman map pool from the page text this cycle.
The $8000 money cap and the 1 minute 30 second timer are the wiki's figures. I did not open a live Wingman match to confirm them this cycle.
