CS2 Vote Kick Commands and Configuration

CS2 Vote Kick Commands and Configuration

Welcome to the complete guide on using vote kick commands in Counter-Strike 2. This post covers the console commands, server configuration variables, and practical examples for initiating and managing kick votes on CS2 servers.

### How to Call a Vote Kick

To initiate a vote kick, open your developer console and enter:

```callvote kick <player_id>```
The player ID can be found by typing `status` in the console and noting the number next to the player's name. The vote will then appear for all players, and if it receives a majority of yes votes, the specified player will be kicked from the server.
### Server Configuration Variables
Server admins can control voting behavior through the following `sv_*` console variables:
| Variable | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `sv_allow_votes` | true | Allows voting on the server |
| `sv_vote_allow_in_warmup` | false | Allow voting during warmup period |
| `sv_vote_allow_spectators` | false | Allow spectators to initiate votes |
| `sv_vote_command_delay` | 2 | Seconds after a vote passes until the action executes |
| `sv_vote_count_spectator_votes` | false | Allow spectators to vote on issues |
| `sv_vote_creation_timer` | 120 | Seconds between individual vote calls |
| `sv_vote_disallow_kick_on_match_point` | false | Disallow kick voting on the match point round |
| `sv_vote_failure_timer` | 300 | Seconds a failed vote cannot be resubmitted |
| `sv_vote_issue_kick_allowed` | true | Allow vote kicks on the server |
### Additional Vote Types
Beyond kick votes, servers can enable other vote types using the same `callvote` command:
- `callvote kick <id>` — Kick a player from the server
- `callvote changelevel` — Change to a different map
- `callvote restart_game` — Restart the current match
All vote types share the same configuration variables listed above, with `sv_vote_issue_*` variables controlling which vote types are available.
### How Vote Results Are Processed
After a vote passes the `sv_vote_command_delay` threshold, the action is executed immediately. The `sv_vote_quorum_ratio` (default 0.501) determines the minimum ratio of players needed to vote on an issue for it to resolve. Votes that fail cannot be resubmitted until the `sv_vote_failure_timer` (300 seconds) has elapsed.
Spectators can participate in votes only if `sv_vote_count_spectator_votes` is enabled. If disabled, only connected players' votes count toward the quorum.
### Common Issues and Troubleshooting
- **Vote not appearing**: Ensure `sv_allow_votes` is set to true and `sv_cheats` is not required (it is not required for normal vote operations)
- **Kick not executing**: Check that `sv_vote_issue_kick_allowed` is set to 1 (enabled) and the vote has sufficient yes votes
- **Vote disabling during warmup**: Set `sv_vote_allow_in_warmup` to 1 if votes should be allowed during the warmup period
### Quick Reference Commands
For server administrators, these cvar adjustments control the voting environment:
