How to Install CS2 Workshop Tools for Map Making

Counter-Strike 2's authoring package includes tools for creating and publishing maps.

Install and launch the tools

The official Weapon Finishes Guide provides the installation steps:

1. Open Counter-Strike 2's game options.
2. Find and install Counter-Strike 2 Workshop Tools.
3. When installation is complete, launch Counter-Strike 2 Workshop Tools.

Map-making tools included

According to the official Maps Workshop FAQ, the CS2 Authoring Tools package includes:

• Hammer, the Source level editor
• Command-line compiling utilities
• Face Poser
• Workshop Map Publisher
• Tutorial maps
• Prefabs

Hammer is the included level editor for creating maps. When a map is ready for submission, use the Workshop Map Publisher to submit it to the Workshop.

Download playable Workshop maps

To download an existing Workshop map, subscribe to it. The map is then downloaded automatically and added under the Workshop tab in the in-game map browser.
